FAQ

How Slab Royale works, from your first drop to the card in your wallet.

The basics

What is Slab Royale?

A cartoon battle royale that runs in your browser. Up to 50 players drop from the party bus, loot up and fight while the storm closes in. In a prize match, the last one standing wins a real graded Collector Crypt card, sent to their Solana wallet.

Is it free to play?

Yes. Free to play costs nothing and needs no wallet or sign-up, but it has no real card to win: you play for points and gems. Real cards are won in paid lobbies, where every player pays for a seat, and in the holders' match, which is coming soon.

# Link to this answer
Do I need to download or install anything?

No. The game runs in a browser tab: press Play and it loads.

# Link to this answer
What do I need to play?

A computer with a keyboard and a mouse, and a desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) that draws 3D graphics (WebGL 2) with graphics acceleration turned on. If acceleration is off, the play page says so and names the browser setting to turn on.

# Link to this answer
Can I play on a phone or a tablet?

Not yet. The game needs a keyboard and a mouse, so on a phone the play page asks you to open it on a computer. You can still browse the site on a phone.

# Link to this answer
Do I need an account or a wallet to try it?

No. Free to play, a match against bots, Training and free lobbies with friends all work without an account or a wallet. Sign in to keep your points, gems and cosmetics. To play for a real card you need a Solana wallet.

Winning cards

How do I win a card?

Be the last player standing in a prize match. Today that means a paid lobby; the holders' match will be a second way once it opens. Free-to-play matches never have a card to win.

# Link to this answer
What card do I win, and is it real?

A Collector Crypt pack is opened for the winner, and the card inside is theirs: a real graded card, delivered as a Collector Crypt card (an NFT) to their wallet. Which card comes out is drawn by Collector Crypt's machine when the pack is opened.

# Link to this answer
Where do the cards come from?

From Collector Crypt's gacha machines. Each prize match plays for one pack of one machine. When the match has a winner, our system buys that pack on Collector Crypt for the winner, and Collector Crypt sends the card to the winner's wallet.

# Link to this answer
How and when do I receive my card?

Right after the match: the pack is bought and opened for you, and everyone in the match watches it rip at the same moment (it shows on the Live page too). The card is sent to the wallet linked to your account, the one you logged in with. There is nothing to claim.

# Link to this answer
How do I see my cards?

A card you win is in the Solana wallet linked to your account. The reveal screen has a "See it on Collector Crypt" link to the card's own page, and every card won is listed on the Pulls page with the same link.

# Link to this answer
How do I sell my card?

Your card is a Collector Crypt card in your own wallet, so selling it happens on Collector Crypt, not on Slab Royale: we don't buy cards back or run a marketplace. See collectorcrypt.com for how selling works and what it costs there.

# Link to this answer
Can I get the physical card?

The card is held by Collector Crypt, and redeeming it is handled by them, under their terms: Slab Royale never holds or ships cards. See collectorcrypt.com for how redemption works.

# Link to this answer
What can I win in a lobby, and what are the odds?

Every lobby card and lobby room on the Lobbies page has a "What you can win" link. It opens that lobby's machine on Collector Crypt, with the cards it holds and its odds. The cards and the odds are Collector Crypt's.

# Link to this answer
What happens if I win and something goes wrong with the pack?

The purchase is recorded before it is sent and checked on chain before any retry, so a hiccup neither loses your prize nor pays for it twice. If the machine is paused on Collector Crypt, the pack is bought as soon as it reopens. If it is delayed for another reason, the screen says so and our team handles it by hand.

# Link to this answer
What if a prize match is cut short or nobody wins?

In a paid lobby, every seat is refunded if the match is aborted before it has a winner (a server failure) or ends with nobody winning. Once a match has a winner, the pack goes to that winner, even if they were disconnected at the end.

Ways to play

How do free matches work?

Press Play free and you land in the match that is filling. It leaves shortly after its first player arrives, and bots fill the empty spots. No account, no wallet and no real card to win; signed-in players keep their points and the gems they find.

# Link to this answer
How is a paid lobby's seat price set?

It is the pack's price plus 10%, split evenly across the lobby's seats (2 to 50). The price is in US dollars and is converted to SOL at the moment you take your seat, with 2% added for price moves. You see the exact amount before you pay.

# Link to this answer
What does my entry pay for?

Together, the seats pay for the winner's pack. The 10% on top is Slab Royale's revenue.

# Link to this answer
When does a paid lobby start?

Only when every seat is paid. Slab Royale's own lobbies then start by themselves and call you to the match wherever you are on the site. In a lobby a player created, its creator starts the match from the waiting room. Bots never play in a paid lobby.

# Link to this answer
What if my lobby doesn't fill?

You get back exactly the SOL you paid. A lobby that doesn't fill before it expires is refunded, and so is a full lobby that never starts. You can also leave at any time before the match starts, for the same refund.

# Link to this answer
What is the holders' match?

A free match for holders of the Slab Royale coin: with the required amount in your wallet (the home page shows how much), you play at no cost. With enough players aboard, the winner opens a real pack, paid by the coin's creator fees; smaller matches play for points and gems. It is not open yet: the site marks it "Coming soon".

# Link to this answer
Can I play with my friends?

Yes. Create a free lobby with friends on the Lobbies page and share its link or code: friends join in one click, as guests if they like. Its leader picks how many bots come along and starts it, and there is no prize. To play for a real card together, create a private paid lobby: only people with your invite link can take a seat.

# Link to this answer
Are there duos or squads?

Not yet. Every match is solo, with one winner. Duos and Squads are marked "Coming soon" on the home page.

# Link to this answer
Can I practice first?

Yes. Play vs bots is a full match of your own against bots, with no account needed and no prize. Training is an offline practice ground with dummies.

# Link to this answer
Can I watch a friend's match?

Yes. Sign in and add them as a friend: a Spectate button shows next to their name while they are in a match. In a free match you watch as it happens and can switch players. In a prize match you see only your friend, a little behind, until they are out.

Money

What do I pay with?

Paid lobby seats are paid in SOL: the price is shown in US dollars and converted when you take the seat. Shop items are paid in USDC on Solana, or with gems you earn by playing. Free matches cost nothing.

# Link to this answer
Where does my entry go?

To Slab Royale's escrow wallet, where it waits for the match. When the match has a winner, the lobby's SOL is converted to USDC, the pack is bought for the winner, and what is left (about the 10%) is revenue. Without a winner, it goes back to the players.

# Link to this answer
When and how do I get a refund?

You are refunded exactly the SOL you paid if you leave before the match starts, if a private lobby's creator removes you before the start, if the lobby is cancelled or doesn't fill in time, if a full lobby never starts, or if the match is aborted or ends without a winner. Refunds are sent automatically to the wallet that paid. Once the match has started there is no refund, including if you disconnect.

# Link to this answer
Are there fees?

A paid seat's price includes 10% on top of the pack's price, and 2% is added when it is converted to SOL, for price moves and swap costs. You see the total before you pay. Your wallet also pays Solana's own network fee on what it sends.

# Link to this answer
Is winning down to skill or luck?

The match is won by playing: the last player alive wins, the game server runs every match itself, and bots never play in prize matches. Which card comes out of the winner's pack is a Collector Crypt gacha draw, with the machine's odds shown on its page.

Account and wallet

How do I sign in?

Press Sign in. "Play as guest" takes a @username and your Solana wallet address, with nothing to connect. "Connect wallet" logs you in with a Solana wallet such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. There is no email or password login.

# Link to this answer
What is the difference between a guest and a wallet login?

A guest account lives in your browser: clear its cookies and you have to prove the wallet is yours to get back in. A wallet login is needed for paid lobbies. Logging in later with the wallet you entered as a guest keeps your whole profile.

# Link to this answer
How do I change my username?

Open your profile (your @ in the top bar) and press Edit profile. You can change your @ once a week, and your old one keeps leading to your profile for a month.

# Link to this answer
Is my wallet safe?

The site never sees your keys or seed phrase, and it cannot move anything on its own. Logging in asks your wallet to prove it is yours. A payment (a seat, a shop item) is one transfer that your wallet shows you and that you approve, each time. Guests only type an address.

# Link to this answer
Someone already entered my wallet. What now?

A wallet belongs to one account. If its address was already entered by someone else, prove it is yours by signing a message with it, or by sending a tiny exact amount of SOL from it (that amount is not refunded). The wallet then moves to your account.

# Link to this answer
What data do you keep?

Your @username, your wallet address, what you put on your profile (bio, social handles, country), your matches and stats, your cosmetics, points and gems, and your friends list. A cookie keeps you signed in. For anti-cheat, the internet addresses an account played from are kept for 90 days. We never ask for an email or a password.

Gameplay

What are the controls?

WASD to move, the mouse to look, left click to shoot, right click to aim, Shift to sprint, Space to jump, C to crouch (slide while sprinting, hold to lie down), R to reload and E to pick up, open, drive or climb. 1 to 5 or the wheel pick a slot, G throwables, Q drops what is in hand, hold B for emotes, V swaps shoulder, M is the map and I the inventory. Esc opens the menu, with the full list.

# Link to this answer
Where are the settings?

Press Esc in a match: mouse, aim and scope sensitivity, field of view, volume and music, graphics quality, a frame rate limit, invert mouse Y, and an FPS and ping display.

# Link to this answer
How does a match go?

Everyone rides the party bus over the map, jumps, skydives and opens a glider. On the ground you loot guns, ammo, armour and healing from the floor and from chests, while the storm closes in circle by circle and hurts anyone outside it. The last circle closes to nothing, so every match ends: the last player alive wins.

# Link to this answer
Can I drive vehicles?

Yes. Press E next to a parked car to drive it; boats and helicopters work the same way. Careful in the street: a car can run players over.

# Link to this answer
Is there fall damage?

Yes: a long fall hurts and a very high one kills. Dropping one floor never hurts, and neither does landing under your glider.

# Link to this answer
What if I disconnect or close the browser mid-match?

Your character stays in the match, standing where it was, and can still be eliminated. The game reconnects by itself; if the tab is gone, come back to the site and it offers to put you back in ("You're still in a match!"). In a prize match your player is kept until it is eliminated or the match ends. A match without a prize is closed once nobody has been connected to it for a minute.

# Link to this answer
Can I keep watching after I'm eliminated?

Yes. You first watch whoever took you out. In a free match you can then switch between the players still in. In a prize match you watch one player only.

# Link to this answer
Are there bots?

In free-to-play matches, yes: bots fill the match so nobody waits, and they are always labeled "(bot)". They never play in paid lobbies or in the holders' match, so a bot never wins a card. Eliminations and damage against bots earn half the points.

Shop, locker and progression

What are points?

Every match earns points for taking part, your placement, eliminations, damage and survival time. They fill the loot-box bar in the top bar and count on the Leaderboard. You need to be signed in to keep them.

# Link to this answer
What are loot boxes?

Each time your points bar fills, you earn a loot box, opened in your Locker. It gives a cosmetic you don't own yet, in one of four tiers: common, rare, epic or legendary. Loot boxes are earned by playing only: they are never sold.

# Link to this answer
What are gems for, and how do I get them?

Gems buy cosmetics in the Shop. Signed-in players find them in the chests they open during matches with other people, and can trade points for gems in the Shop, up to a daily limit (trading doesn't lower your points total). Gems can't be bought.

# Link to this answer
What does the Shop sell?

This season's cosmetics for your character, priced in USDC on Solana and in gems. Try an item on before you buy; once bought, it is in your Locker.

# Link to this answer
What is the Locker?

Where you dress your character, set up your emote wheel and open loot boxes. What you wear in your Locker is what everyone sees in your matches.

# Link to this answer
Do cosmetics change how I play?

No. Cosmetics are visual only: every character has the same hitbox, and nothing from the shop or the loot boxes changes the gameplay.

# Link to this answer
What are seasons and limited editions?

Every rare, epic and legendary item is a limited edition of its season: it is on sale and in loot boxes during that season only, then new items replace it for good. Commons are always available. What you already own stays in your locker.

# Link to this answer
How does the leaderboard work?

The Leaderboard ranks players by wins, eliminations or points. You are on it once you have finished a match while signed in.

# Link to this answer

Fair play

How do you stop cheating?

The game server runs every match itself: your browser only sends your inputs, and the server checks movement, fire rate, ammo and line of sight. Your browser is only sent the players you could actually see, and the server checks aim statistics throughout every match.

# Link to this answer
How do I report a player?

Press Esc in a match: the menu lists the match's players, and you can report any of them. You need to be signed in, and you pick a reason (aimbot, wallhack, other cheating, teaming, an offensive name, abuse or something else). Reports go to the admins' review queue.

# Link to this answer
What gets a player banned?

Admins review players' reports and the server's own flags, and can ban an account and the internet addresses it played from. A banned player gets no new match and is removed from the one they are in.

# Link to this answer
Why would a prize be held for review?

If the winner's aim statistics pass the server's thresholds, the prize is held instead of being sent. An admin reviews the match, then either releases the prize, which is delivered as usual, or refuses it.

Trouble

The game is very slow or won't start. What can I do?

Most often the browser is drawing without your graphics card. The play page detects it and says "Graphics acceleration is off": turn on the setting it names, restart the browser, and update your graphics driver if nothing changes. "Your browser can't draw the game" means WebGL 2 is off or missing: try another browser. In a match, Esc opens the settings, where Graphics: Low is the fastest.

# Link to this answer
What does "Unstable connection" mean?

Your link to the game server is running more than a second late. Until it clears, other players may not be where your screen shows them. It is about your own connection, not the match.

# Link to this answer
I lost my connection. Is my match gone?

Not while your character is alive: the game shows "Reconnecting…" and keeps trying, and your character stays in the match meanwhile. If the match ended before you got back, you will see "Connection lost" or "That match is over". Signed in, your placement and points are in your match history.

# Link to this answer
Why does it say "The arena's packed"?

Every game server is full. You are in line, and you are dropped in the moment a spot opens: keep the tab open.

# Link to this answer
Who do I contact?

Post on r/SlabRoyale or reach @SlabRoyale on X. For a payment problem, include the transaction's signature and never share your seed phrase: nobody from Slab Royale will ask for it.

# Link to this answer

The coin

What is the Slab Royale coin for?

The Slab Royale coin is the key to the holders' match: holding the required amount in your wallet lets you play it for free, and the coin's creator fees pay for its prizes. That is the only use the site gives it.

# Link to this answer
Is the coin out?

Not yet. The top bar shows "CA Coming soon" where the coin's contract address will be, and the holders' match is marked "Coming soon" too.

# Link to this answer
Do I need the coin to play?

No. Free to play and paid lobbies don't need it. It is only for the holders' match.

# Link to this answer
Do I have to keep holding the coin to get a holders' match prize?

Yes. Your wallet must hold the required amount when you join and again when the prize is paid. If the winner's wallet no longer holds it then, the prize is not paid and stays in the vault for a later match.
